Agreement

By downloading, installing, or using Leelo ("the app", "the service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Leelo Languages, a sole trader business based in the United Kingdom.

The service

Leelo provides daily Spanish-language reading content adapted by AI into five reading levels. The service includes article reading, word lookup, vocabulary saving, reading progress tracking, and (for paid subscribers) access to a library of additional reading content.

Articles are adapted from real-world news stories using AI. A disclosure of AI use is shown during onboarding. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any article content.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation.

Accounts

You must create an account to use Leelo. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under it.

You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep it up to date. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend accounts that violate these Terms, are inactive for an extended period, or are otherwise deemed harmful to the service or other users.

Subscriptions and billing

Free tier

Leelo is free to use with one article per day and access to all five reading levels. No payment is required for the free tier.

Paid subscriptions

Paid subscriptions (Standard and Premium) are billed monthly through Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Prices are displayed at the point of purchase and may vary by region.

Billing and renewal

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You can cancel at any time through your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access until then.

Refunds

All subscription purchases are processed by Apple or Google. Refund requests are handled by the relevant platform in accordance with their refund policies. We do not issue refunds directly.

Price changes

We may change subscription prices at any time. We will give you reasonable notice of any price changes. Continued use of the paid service after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.

Founding member rate

The founding member rate (£3.49/month) is available to the first 20 subscribers and is grandfathered for as long as the subscription remains active. If a founding member cancels and resubscribes, the standard rate applies.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Leelo to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Attempt to access any part of the service you are not authorised to access
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the app
• Use automated tools to scrape, copy, or extract content from the app
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers connected to it
• Share your account credentials with others
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation

Content

All articles, stories, and reading content in Leelo are generated or adapted using AI. This content is provided for language learning purposes only and should not be relied upon as factual news reporting.

Vocabulary words and notes saved to your account are your content. We do not claim ownership of content you create within the app.

We reserve the right to remove any content from the service at any time for any reason.

Intellectual property

The Leelo app, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by Leelo Languages. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for personal, non-commercial language learning purposes.

Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any content in the app for any particular purpose. Language learning outcomes vary by individual and are not guaranteed.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, Leelo Languages shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £10, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

Termination

You may stop using Leelo at any time. You can delete your account by contacting us at hello@leelolanguages.com.

We may terminate or suspend your access to the service immediately, without notice, if you breach these Terms or if we are required to do so by law.

On termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will do so.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via an in-app notice. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
